a few old memories

i burned all those pictures at least ten years ago

that one of you beside the car was hardest to let go

that shoebox full of memories

promises and lies

the smoke from those old letters still gets in my eyes

just a few old memories of how it used to be

old songs and old friends remind me constantly

to think how close i was to you still gets close to me

but all that's left for me to love are a few old memories

there's still a silver bracelet

around the house somewhere
