i ain't dead yet

i've got a baby at home

a to-do list a mile long

and a husband who comes home each night

i do the laundry

i cook and clean

it's my responsibility

and i'm usually in the bed by nine

but i still like a cold beer and a long dirt road

and listening to some keith whitley on the radio

don't mean i ain't a good mama

don't mean i ain't a good wife

i'm just like anybody else

that needs a break from time to time

and i know my obligations

and believe me

they're met

i may be getting older

but i ain't dead yet

my life's a lot different now

i'm proud of how it's turned out

and the folks like me

they understand

there's always something to be done

but i still like having fun

it's just part of who i am
