sunday morning
charlie daniels band, the
sunday morning at the little church down the street
i was sitting in the congregation i was listenin' to the preacher preach
we was talking about the blood of jesus
that's all i could afford
and then me and my brothers and sisters got on down to praisin' the lord
thinkin' about the promised land
when i got home sunday morning
i was feeling like a brand-new man
i didn't get to work till ten
the bossman said if you want to work here
don't you ever let it happen again
there was people grumblin' and carrying on
i had to listing to all of that fuss
it's just about enough to make a man want cuss
where there warn't nobody but me
because i'm not the man i used to be
gonna make it through the week 'cause i know
i'll be sitting on the very front row
an old friend came by and said come on
we'll find us a bar and we'll pick up some girls and do a little folling around
i'm sure glad you came 'cause i got something i want you to see
why don't you sit down here and let me tell you about what the lord has done for me
i said jesus love you and he died got for your sins
i'll be glad to lead you straight to him
we talked for a little while and i got down on my knees
every sunday morning he's sittin' right here with me
