you read about ol' samson you read about his birth
samson was the strongest man that ever walked on earth
the bible tells us down in ancient times
that he killed ten thousand of those philistines
you see one day ol' samson was walkin' alone
and a-looked on the ground and spied an old jawbone
and then he picked up that jawbone and swung it 'round his head
when that jawbone came down now ten thousand were dead
if i had my way in this wicked world
i would tear this building down

delilah was a woman both fine and fair
she was so good lookin' with her coal black hair
that she drove poor samson right out of his mind
when he saw that woman of the philistines
and now that wicked delilah she talked so fair
